Y Bont is a small class resource base specifically for Behaviour and Emotional Support. There is a high staff to pupil ratio to support this work. Staff work with the children using many strategies such as Trauma Informed approaches, ELSA, and ‘Talkabout for children’. 

Work is centred around emotional regulation and behaviour management with academic provision worked around this. The day is highly structured to provide support for the children and their needs. The 4 Core Purposes and 6 Areas of Learning and Experience are used to support the academic provision.

The children are encouraged to become independent learners and problem solvers through a stimulating and supportive learning environment in which children feel comfortable to take risks and learn.

Y Bont uses an inquiry style of teaching to support the above.
